There are many ways to include your pups in any cause for which you feel a passion. Here are just a few ways to mix pups and politics.
Make your dog a political spokes dog. Create a site supporting your favorite political cause with your dog as the star. One pup, Rusty, has his own site, Dogs Against Romney, through which he campaigns for his cause and sells t-shirts with slogans like “Dogs Aren’t Luggage”, “Mitt is Mean” and “Never Forget Crate Gate”. Join Rusty's cause or create one of your own.
Campaign with your Pup. If you are really passionate about a cause, or a human candidate for office, you can create flyers and campaign in New York with your dog. Canvass Central Park with Fido and pass out flyers outside election primaries. People may respond better to your dog dressed up in support of a candidate than they will to a human. This is also a good way to solicit votes for online dog contests.
Exercise your dog’s right to vote. There are a lot of online dog contests through which the results are chosen by online voters. Voting is currently underway to help pick one lucky pooch who will get to model at Angel on a Leash’s upcoming New Yorkie Runway Doggie Fashion Show at the New Yorker Hotel on February 10. Watch the videos of the ten finalists to see which dog most closely demonstrates your politi-pup values and vote. Voting ends on Friday, February 3 at midnight. Tickets for the event are also available on the site.
