6th presentation of the Big Sur Mud Run will be held at CSU Monterey Bay on March 26th at 8am. It is a five-mile course with divisions for age, teams and individuals, men and women, civilian and military.
Last year’s course was challenging, but messy and a lot of fun. This year looks no different! It is on both trails and road, and has hills, water, mud, five-foot walls, obstacles, drill sergeants, pushups and even a beer stop. Even with all the distractions, competition is fierce, and some impressive times are turned in. Last year’s winner, Travis Armstrong of Marina, finished with a blazing time of 32:31 at an average pace of 6:15 per mile. The next closest finisher was more than four minutes behind.
Bring a change of clothes, and a willingness to get a little wet, dirty and exhausted. Registration is nearly full; so if you’re interested, don’t wait!
