Pismo Beach is bubbling up this October with a sparkling wine festival, the nation’s first actually that’s dedicated solely to the genre of wines. BUBBLYFEST by the Sea bursts on the scene at the scenic, seaside town on October 24 and continues through 26, 2014, highlighting more than 40 domestic and international producers of “bubbly” in a weekend-long festival.

A cocktail mixer at Dolphin Bay Resort & Spa will kick off the event Friday, October 24 between 6 – 8 p.m. And if you want to fit in grab your best Gatsby-like outfits and go thirsty my friends they will be pouring unique Champagne cocktails paired with gourmet appetizers, the sounds of jazz band The Tipsy Gypsies, and stunning cliff-side views of the Pacific Ocean ( cost is $6 per person).

Then on October 25 there’s the BUBBLYFEST Grand Tasting event, from 12 – 4 p.m. at the SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel, where tipplers can taste more 40 local, domestic and international producers of Champagne and sparkling wine. The event will also feature gourmet samplings of artisan cheeses, chocolates, oysters, bread and other bites; sparkling cocktail concoctions and musical entertainment.. A photo booth will offer guests the opportunity to capture the moment and savor the outdoor event’s sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean, coastal bluffs and the nearby Pismo Beach Pier ($65 a person).

Then its back to Dolphin Bay Resort & Spa on Oct. 26 for a Sunday Funday Champagne brunch from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Staged on the ocean-side patio of the resort’s Lido Restaurant, the event will feature a three-course gourmet brunch prepared by Chef Jacob Moss paired with bottomless Champagne. The popular Dan Curio of Moonshiner Collective will provide live music to complete the light-and-fun ambiance (this will run you $45 a head).
