April is the month where science fiction, comic, and horror enthusiasts gather at the Marriott Denver Tech Center in Colorado for a weekend of geek heaven. Mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, and fans of all ages will come celebrate their passion at the annual Starfest Convention April 19th-21st. The first of the celebrity guests have been announced to include Stargate and Farscape star Ben Browder, and Lost in Space favorite Bill Mumy. More guests to be announced soon. Along with meeting celebs, guests to the Starfest Convention enjoy a weekend filled with costumes, gaming, panels, and even dancing at the annual Federation Ball.
Actor Ben Browder has been a fan favorite in the sci fi world since his huge success in the television show Farscape. Browder also loved for his starring role as Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell in the 9th and 10th seasons of Stargate SG-1 after Richard Dean Anderson stepped down from his lead role. The Tennessee born actor earned a BS in psychology at Furman University, and then went on to study drama at Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England. He recently guest-starred on Arrow and Doctor Who.
Bill Mumy has worked on over 400 television shows and 20 feature films and is best known for his role as Will Robinson on the 1960’s series, Lost in Space. Not only has Mumy guest starred on Babylon 5 and many other TV show guest spots, he has enjoyed a successful voice over career. As a musician and songwriter, Mumy plays guitar, bass, keyboards, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, percussion and sings. He has released twelve solo albums and nine albums as half of the novelty-rock band, Barnes and Barne.
