Get your fashion costumes ready, Carnival of Barranquilla returns to Miami

After a major effort to disseminate the values and culture of people who excel in different areas in the United States, a group of Colombians proud of their origins decided to bring a bit of Colombia to South Florida with their famous Carnival of Barranquilla.

Get your fashion costumes ready!-  A series of events will take place from February 5th to March 12th to celebrate “Canival of Barranquilla 2011." Colombians, Hispanics living in Florida and other members of the international community that live in Miami, all together can enjoy music, food and native costumes from Barranquilla.

With the idea of sharing the joy of the Colombian Caribbean, Carnival of Barranquilla 2011, will honor 3 personalities of the community as: "The Queen of Carnival, Queen of Carnival-Kids and The King “Momo:”

1 - Daniela Duran, born in Barranquilla and political asylum in USA, is honored as Queen of Carnival of Barranquilla 2011
2 - Julie Higgins, born in Miami, daughter of Juan Carlos Higgins and Gina Molinares, is honored as Queen of Carnival of Barranquilla 2011- Kids.
3 - Jose de Jesus Gutierrez, born in Santa Marta, lawyer, official named The King “Momo” of Carnival of Barranquilla 2011
