Charlie Dane is an accomplished singer and guitar player with over 8 years of training...she is also only a mere 13 years old. Dane plays what could best be described as pop/rock music, but despite her age, she has a timeless, soulful quality about her.
The eighth grader has spent her last 6 summers at New York's Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts. It's hard to imagine that his barely 75lb. tween already has so much experience under her belt, but the middle-school student has played everything from major music festivals to singing "God Bless America" and "The Star Spangled Banner" at two New York Islander Hockey games at Nassau Coliseum. Dane has performed opening for Eric Krasno, Papa Grows Funk and members of The Radiators. 2012 has also seen the release of her debut record, “Dreamland” – which is available now on her website as well as on iTunes and the other major music download services.
When Dane performs, people are naturally drawn to her and moved by her confidence and style. She is currently recording in the studio and is working on original pieces. Her songs are a reflection of who she is and what she has experienced in her life. She writes about loss, regret, fears, hope and the importance of being an individual who is not afraid to be herself. Dane’s talent and creativity comes through in everything that she does although her true passion and strength has always been her music. Just watch her video posted on this page and and it will become apparent.
