Patterns, textures and leathers that pop make up Jess Rizzuti's signature. A master of textiles, she graduated with a BFA in Surface Design and then honed in on her handbag skills at FIT. Merging the two, Jess began creating her own samples by hand before blossoming into a full line of handbags that are made in NYC.
With a robust collection ranging from eco-friendly handbags to sophisticated clutches, Rizzuti's line is one to watch. Her pieces are carefully crafted from Argentinean leather and embossed with metallic skins in a congruent way. The Tuxedo leather bag with silk screened suede ruffles is a new take on sophisticated fun. And, her eco baguettes made from cork and burlap are truly unique, mixing vivid colors and whimsical patterns.
Just as impressive as the line are her philanthropic efforts. Rizzuti is involved in Care for Kenya, an organization that employs women in Nairobi. Here, women use her sketches and design pieces using local textiles to help fuel economic growth in their community. What’s next? A line of eco-friendly bags with Rizutti's unique style.
