As Spring Breakers begin their trek to the sunshine state in search of an escape from the firm grip of old man winter, water parks all across the state are polishing their waterslides, filling up their wave pools, and trying to come up with new and exciting ways to separate you from your hard earned cash.
One of the best places to do that this spring is the Rapids Water Park, South Florida’s Premier Water Park. The park features a full day of fun for the entire family. Whether you make a splash in the cool blue waves, take a thrilling plunge down the waterslides, or just relax and float around the lazy river...there is something fun for everyone.
Now in it's 35th season, visitors to the park can experience not only the original waterslides, known lovingly as "Old Yeller," but can also enjoy several new and expanded attractions, including the Rapids’ newest attraction, a double FlowRider by Wave Loch Inc.
This is the only FlowRider in Palm Beach County. It’s continuous, simulated wave system, moves 30,000 gallons of water per minute keeping the waves in one location allowing bodyboarders to ride the curl riding waves over a fixed surface at 35 mph.
Other new additions to the park this year include the Picnic-In-The-Park Pavilions; Big Surf Cabanas; and the Tobago Trading Company retail store.
The Local Getaways Examiner will be at the park next weekend to check things out. If you're a regular reader of this column, maybe you'll see me. You'll either find me lounging in the lazy river, plummeting head first down one of the waterslides, or relaxing with an adult beverage in one of the cabanas. You never can tell!
The water park is located at 6566 North Military Trail, Riviera Beach, FL 33407.
