If you love b-b-q (and who doesn't) you'll want to write down on your calendar that the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party is coming to town again for its 11th season. This year's festival will be Saturday June 8 and Sunday June 9/
Over 140,000 people are expected to show up for a taste of authentic pit barbecue and a generous helping of southern hospitality. The nation’s top pitmasters will assemble from a dozen states cooking whole hogs in smokers, thousands of sausage links, pounds of pulled pork and more. Guests can feast on barbecue while enjoying free live music, cooking demos, seminars, merchandise and prizes.
Admission the event is free with samples of food from for only $9 a plate. For the ultimate ’cue fan, FastPasses are on sale now for $125 each at www.bigapplebbq.org. A FastPass means shorter lines and less wait time between you and your favorite rack of ribs.
Each FastPass also includes a $100 value redeemable for food, beverage and merchandise and guarantees exclusive access to express lines for the FastPass holder and one guest
The Big Apple Barbecue Block Party will be held at Madison Square Park (Madison Ave. between 23rd & 27th St. and along 26th St.) in Manhattan. Proceeds benefit the Madison Square Park Conservancy (MSPC).
