Saturday March 16, 2013 from 11am to 4pm at Curtis Hixon Park, Mayor Bob Buckhorn will host The Second Annual Mayor's River O'Green St.Patrick's Day Celebration.
On Feb.28, Mayor Buckhorn released his statement. "The Annual Mayor's River O'Green Fest is an opportunity to celebrate with the family in downtown Tampa. If you didn't come out to Curtis Hixon Park last year to see the Hillsborough River turn bright green, then you cannot miss the celebration this year."
The mayor added humorously that one of the perks of having an Irishman for mayor is turning the river green for St.Patrick's Day.
There is planned entertainment, food trucks and activities at the free event that's open to the public. Vendors items will be sold as well as the sale of alcohol. Alcohol sales will be provided by The Tampa Downtown Partnership and proceeds from sales will benefit, Realm, the partnership's nonprofit, that services downtown parks.
Information on vendors and entertainment is available at tampagov.net/riverogreen.
