Mark your calendar for April 29, 2012 for the biggest and best-so-far celebration of Israel Independence Day. From 12:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, more than 1,000 people are expected to turn out for a day of festivities, including a show by Benji Lovitt, Israeli comedian and writer. The event will be held at Towson University.*

At 2:00 p.m., Baltimore Hebrew Institute and Towson University’s Shoubin Lecture will sponsor a viewing of “Israel Inside,” a new, poignant and inspiring documentary exploring how a small nation makes a big difference. This includes a special guest appearance by the movie director!
This is an event of the Baltimore Israel Coalition, a group of roughly two dozen local organizations, working to support Israel through education, advocacy and community-building. These organizations include: ACHARAI, AIPAC, American Jewish Committee, American Technion Society, THE ASSOCIATED, The Baltimore Board of Rabbis, The Baltimore Jewish Council, Baltimore Hebrew University, Baltimore Zionist District, the Macks Center for Jewish Education, The Darrell D. Friedman Institute, Diller Baltimore Teen Fellows, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, Hadassah, Hillel, Israel Bonds, Jewish Community Center, The Jewish Federation of Howard County, Jewish National Fund, Jewish Volunteer Connection, Maryland/Israel Development Center and National Council of Synagogue Youth.
