Get ready for gear and cheer 2013

Do you need some new outdoor gear? Would you like to support programs that empower girls? Then register for the Women's Wilderness Institute's 11th annual Gear & Cheer fundraising event. This year's event is the ultimate "party with purpose." The goal is to raise $30,000 to support programs that build courage, confidence, and leadership skills for girls. Gear & Cheer will be held 6 - 9 pm Thursday March 21 at HUB Boulder, and will offer beer, wine and food tasting provided by local vendors, the jazz stylings of Sacrebleu, and an auction where you can bid on incredible outdoor gear and trip packages while providing scholarship funds for the girls' wilderness program.

For the past sixteen years the Women's Wilderness Institute has provided girls with the challenge and support of wilderness and community based adventures. The Institute's programs help girls to find their voices, feel the strength of their bodies, develop self-confidence, and create lasting female friendships. Since its inception in 1998 the organization has never turned a girl away due to financial hardship. Successful fundraising events like Gear & Cheer help provide support for all girls who wish to participate in the wilderness programs.

Single tickets for Gear and Cheer are $50, and you can also get two for $75. $100 will get you a VIP sneak peak. If you purchase your tickets in person at Moosejaw Mountaineering in Boulder, you can save $10 off the ticket price (cash or check only) while also getting great discounts on gear--15% off anything in the store and 25% off MJ gear when you buy your ticket at the shop.
