Get ready for Easter brunch

When I think of holidays, I think of leisurely brunches at the dining room table surrounded by family. Rather than fussing all morning in the kitchen, I like to do the prep work the night before. Then I can relax with my guests, savoring the food and conversation. Here’s an easy and inexpensive recipe for a breakfast main dish. Add fresh fruit, muffins, and your favorite beverage to round out the feast.

Find all the ingredients you need for your feast at Wal-Mart at 2887 South Arlington Road in Akron.

BREAKFAST CASSEROLE

In 9 x 13 greased pan, place 9 slices of cubed bread.

Sprinkle with 1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese and your choice of meat (1 ½ cups diced ham OR cooked, drained, and cooled sausage)

In large bowl, whip 9 eggs. Add 3 cups milk, 1 ½ teaspoon dry mustard and salt to taste.

Pour egg mixture over meat.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Remove cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
