The bells will soon be ringing in the halls of West Beverly High School on “90210,” and here is a quick recap of summer gossip to get fans ready for the new season.

The season one finale resulted in a hit-and-run crash involving Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes) behind the wheel. Talk over the summer revealed that in the new season, fans will find out whom Annie hit with her car and that she will befriend the victim’s nephew. The entire ordeal will send Annie down a darker path this season.
A new guy in town, tennis pro Teddy Montgomery (Trevor Donovan), will catch the eyes of the ladies of “90210.” He apparently has a history with Adrianna Tate-Duncan (Jessica Lowndes; pictured, above left), but is expected to be a new love interest for Erin “Silver” Silver (Jessica Stroup; pictured, above right). Either way, the former “Days of our Lives” star will bring some new eye candy to the show, filling the void left by the departure of Ethan Ward (Dustin Milligan).
Silver and Dixon Wilson (Tristan Wilds) have had their relationship ups and downs, and are expected to break up in season two. So this could leave Silver available for Teddy and Dixon available for a female DJ. All this breaking up and hooking up should bring about some new love triangles, including one amongst the adult characters. But don't expect Naomi Clark (AnnaLynne McCord; pictured, above center) and Liam Court (Matt Lanter) back together anytime soon, thanks to Naomi's devious sister Jen Clark (Sara Foster), who by the way will continue to date teacher Ryan Matthews (Ryan Eggold).
The Beverly Hills Beach Club, which appeared on the original “Beverly Hills, 90210” series, will be a new hangout. New characters are expected, along with some surfing action from Dixon, the guys, and a new surfer girl.
While the guys are bonding over surfing, the girls will be hanging out at the Beach Club, but not all together. Silver will reunite with old pals Naomi and Adrianna, but Annie will be left out in the cold.
Several prominent guest stars are expected this season, including Rumer Willis playing the role of a punky lesbian who works at the school paper, John Schneder starring as Liam's stepfather, and Ann Gillespie reprising her “Beverly Hills, 90210” role as Kelly and Silver’s mom, Jackie Taylor.

The new season of “90210” is expected to be “bigger” and “bolder.” It premieres on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 8 p.m. (ET) on the CW network, followed by the premiere of the new “Melrose Place,”just like the shows aired back-to-back in the early 1990s. Don't worry, the hairstyles and wardrobes change for the better (link includes slideshow).
