The storm I have been discussing for some time is finally approaching. Rain should begin late tonight and tranisition to snow from northwest to southeast tomorrow morning. This should be a beautiful heavy wet snow for the I-85 corridor from Atlanta to Charlotte where the heaviest snow will likely fall, likle yaccumulating 2-4 inches. The mountains of northeast Georgia and southwestern NC will get up to 6 inches from this one. Southern parts of the Upstate will be slightly too warm for much accumulation, but you should get to see some snow mix in toward the end.
The snow map shows where 1-3 inches will fall light blue/cyan. 2-5 inches should fall in the darker blue stripe, and a mix with up to 1 inch will fall in the pink zone. Mainly rain will fall in the green area. Enjoy the snow! This is probably the last of it for this season.
