After a 9 city tour, AMSOIL Arenacross is making its way to the Denver Coliseum starting Friday night, March 15th. The exciting Race to the Championship will be decided with this last event.
Reigning back-to-back champion Tyler Bowers (Maxxis) will attempt to go for the trifecta, as the best Arenacross competitors make their way into the city. Leading the professional riders on Friday and Saturday nights, he faces fierce competition from Team Faith/FLY Racing KTM's Jeff Gibson and Babbitt's Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki's Zach Ames, both whom are very close to him in the point standings.
The Denver stop will feature a new-for-this-year format called Race to the Championship which pits the top 10 riders in the point standings against each other for the final four rounds of the season. With Denver being the last stop on the tour, an overall winner will be crowned this weekend.
What makes Arenacross exciting in addition to the playoff format, is that all of the tracks are man-made. 170 truckloads of dirt will be brought into the Coliseum, helping to build a track in just 18,000 square feet of space. Each track is different, and each is designed to challenge even the best riders.
Even though professional riding will be finished on Saturday night, don't forget Amateur Day, taking place on Sunday.
