You probably didn’t know that Dr. Hauschka, the holistic skin care line, made makeup brushes, did you? It makes sense: the soup is only as good as the ingredients that go into it. The quality and design of their Eye Definer brush will serve you well, whether at home or on the road. I was very happy to be hosted to experience it!
Not only is the texture spot-on for its purpose – not too stiff, not too flexible – but also, the cut of the bristles is first-class. I had read that makeup artists went to art supply stores and trimmed their own brushes. I thought I would be smart and do that, too . . . cutting and cutting and cutting, until I had a broken stump. Dr. Hauschka’s Eye Definer brush can be used in a number of ways, which is good for traveling.
Recently, I was traveling in Europe and invited out for the night at the last minute. I realized I had left all of my makeup brushes in the US! I had to prowl and wander a shopping arcade for an eye makeup brush. If you get this brush and keep it in your Dopp kit, you’d be set for all kinds of makeup looks!
With its pointed tip, you can smudge pencil eyeliner for the “smoky eye”. You can use the tip in a dark shadow for a softer eyeliner look. You can use the side of the brush for a winged or “cat eye” liner look. For a full eye makeup look with one shadow, take your face powder and dip a barely damp cotton pad on it. Press all over eyelid for your neutral “shadow”. Use the Eye Definer brush in shadow and apply to your crease and around eye. You could also just outline the outer half of eyes, for a wider-eyed look. That’s being smart on the road! Lighten your makeup load . . .
This is what they say about it:
Subtle looks and nuances make the difference. Eye Definer Brush defines the upper and lower lash line, the outer corner of the eye and the crease of the lid helping to create many subtle and dramatic looks. Can also be used to achieve precise smudging effects with Eyeliners.
