20 I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. 21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: 22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. Lamentations 3:20-22
Have you ever been so wrapped up in your problems that you miss the things going on in your life? You wake up with problems on your mind; you miss the beautiful sunrise. You get dressed not noticing that you’ve been blessed with beautiful clothes. You grab a bite to eat; not realizing that you’re blessed to have something to eat.
You go get into a car or walk to the bus stop; not realizing that you have the ability to walk AND that you have somewhere to go. You go through your day with people hurting more than you. Some of them just need your smile, but you’re too locked into your own head and problems that you don’t even notice. Days and days go by and all you can think about is what’s wrong in your world.
Question: Did all that worrying change anything? Jesus says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28) When your burdens, worries and fears weigh you down, give them to Jesus. Take some time to tell Him what worries you. Dump your junk on Him and let Him take care of your battles. You can’t do it without Him, but He CAN do it without you. You don’t have to have a whole lot of faith to believe He’s able.
Get out of your head and look at the world around you. Breathe in the fresh air; look up at the clouds and sky. Feel the cool breeze brush you cheek. Feel the snow beneath your boots. He did all of that. So what it’s cold! He’s given you a warm heart…allow it to beat to the rhythm of life. Bump! Bump! Bump!! Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Your life has rhythm, a melody in harmony with His love. But the enemy doesn’t want you to flow.
Satan would have an off day if he didn’t give you some kind of trouble. He sees that God is in control and he can’t do anything about that. But he can create confusion and distraction to keep you off-beat. But as soon as you remember that fear is False Evidence Appearing Real and shake those distractions off, the sooner you can begin to flow with God’s Spirit.
He’ll take you to someone who could use your smile, your tender words of comfort. When’s the last time you told someone your testimony? When was the last time you looked in the mirror and told YOU your testimony? You made it this far, right?! You have a testimony! Run through the last 10 years of your life and see what He’s done for you thus far. It’s amazing isn’t it?!
Get out of your head, stay out of your head. Get into His love, stay inside His love. Let the Lord fight your battles. Let His precious Holy Spirit lead you to someone who needs your smile, your tender words of encouragement. You have been put on this earth to share His love. Take a deep breath, feel His breeze brush against your cheek. Feel the snow crunch beneath your boots. Look at the sky…it goes on and on. He did that! And there is no limit to what He can do in your life. Just trust Him. He loves you! ♥
