Laura Ann Samuelson, director of Hoarded Stuff Performances, presents her final weekend of her solo show “Everything Is In” at the Community Dance Collective this Friday and Saturday. On a mission to capture, record and perform every idea from January until now, the concept is to relish and honor the thoughts and ideas that take up the space in one’s creative mind, regardless of the outcome. The question is what do we hold onto and when do we know when to let go? So many times in life we must fail many times before we succeed and only by trial and error is this achieved. Serving as a prologue to Hoarded Stuff’s upcoming project “The Failure Festival”, which will premiere in November, Samuelson has about 620 ideas that she will be investigating. According to her “even though some of them (a lot of them) are stupid, she won't let herself throw any of them out.”
Created in residence at the Colorado Conservatory of Dance, you have only two more chances to catch a glimpse of “an unwieldy ritual assembled from warm, stale, sour, convoluted, sweet, and strange moments”. Don’t wait, though, the Community Dance Collective is a small, intimate venue and seats are limited! Make sure you are in for “Everything Is In”!
