Most of what you read about creating more reach for your Facebook Page either has to do with using Facebook Ads or optimizing content. But you might be unknowingly limiting your reach if your page isn't set up correctly.
Here are four settings for your Facebook Page that can dramatically increase reach:
1. Turn On Posting Ability
Allowing Facebook users to post photos and videos to your page increases exposure to their friends.
For example, the friends of the Facebook users who've posted these photos of rabbits will see a story in their News Feed, exposing them to the National Wildlife Federation. If this organization turned this option off, they would lose these opportunities for exposure.
To allow others to post photos, videos, text updates and links to your page, click "Edit Settings" under the edit Page menu item in your admin panel.
2. Turn on tagging
When you post pictures or videos from an event on your Facebook Page, you can invite your fans to tag themselves and their friends who attended. This way, those friends (who may not be fans) are prompted to visit the photo and like the Page.
You can let Facebook users tag themselves and their friends in photos and videos you post to your Page by selecting that option within the Settings area of your Page.
3. Turn on replies
Conversation creates community on Facebook. But not if you don't allow people to talk to each other!
Allowing for threaded commenting helps create deeper conversations within comments on posts in two ways:
- With notifications to users who've been replied to with a comment.
- With threaded comments that organize conversations better.
4. Turn on Suggestions
You know how Amazon.com suggests other products? Facebook works the same way with pages.
When Facebook users like a Facebook page, similar pages are suggested for that user to like.
You can turn this feature on in the settings area of your page.
