Warm spring weather will soon be here, awakening sleeping creatures from their winter slumber. Streams and ponds once again will be teeming with an abundance of life. There will be a variety of fish, waterfowl, and other creatures. Some of our favorite creatures are amphibiansfrogs and their land-based cousin, the toad. You can check them out at Cromwell Valley Park.

Toadily Awesome Amphibians
On Saturday, April 26 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Cromwell Valley Park is offering Toadily Awesome Amphibians, a program suitable for families and individuals ages 4 and older, at the Willow Grove Nature Education Center.

The cost is $2.00 for members and $4.00 for non-members. Pre-registration is required as walk-ins are not allowed. Click here for a registration form.

Discover the awesome world of frogs and toads that is right in your own backyard. This hands-on program will let you get up close and personal with some of your favorite amphibians.

What You Need to Know
Cromwell Valley Park is located on 2175 Cromwell Bridge Road. The Main Visitor Entrance is at Willow Grove Farm (second gate). Click here for directions to the park.

There are many family activities suited to children and their families available at Cromwell Valley Park, many of them are interactive or hands-on. Some activities include hiking, camping, gardening, and crafts.

Adults and seniors can join the fun through seminars, classes, sales, and other events.

The park is open from sunrise to sunset 7 days per week, 365 days of the year. Admission to Cromwell Valley Park is free to the public, although some programs require a registration fee.

Willow Grove Nature Education Center
The Willow Grove Nature Education Center is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. most weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. It is closed Sundays. Hours are dependent on outdoor programs and available staff, so call ahead to see if they are open.

According to the Cromwell Valley Park, the Willow Grove Nature Education Center “offers plenty of opportunities for visitors to learn about nature, farming, local history, and conservation awareness.”
Also, visit the reptiles, amphibians, and mammals native to Maryland.
