I John 3:19-20 (NLT)
Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.
I am not an overly emotional person. Although I am a female, I tend to be more like the male gender in likeness when it comes to feelings. As a woman, I was created to be a nurturer of my children and compliment to my husband. Our life is built on the careful partnership designed by the Lord as the structure of a family. Many times, we are judged by our feelings because they represent what we believe and how we feel more than one may realize. We all know people who tend to live on emotion. Such people experience very high highs and extremely low lows. These are the ones who we are compelled to reach out to but fear being sucked in with even a simplistic salutation such as “How are you?” in passing. As believers, we no longer are in bondage to human emotion. In fact, now we have the ability to live in the Peace of God offered through a new and transformed life. There are many people who would be totally set free today if delivered from human emotions and entanglement of feelings. Could this be the weight that has been holding you back? It is time to get it together. We have a race to run. There is a finish line to cross. There is a prize to be won. It is call peace that passes all understanding as a result of confident hope produced by a faithful heart. Everyone wants it. Now we are going to figure out how to get it.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (NLT)
It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.
Our life plan completely changed when we asked Jesus Christ to be Lord of our life. Now we have a plan with a future and hope that allows us to live by faith knowing that if we have many promises as an inheritance from the Lord. Life is worth living now that our expectations can be met by Jesus Christ. We do not have to sell ourselves short any longer. But there are some soul ties that must be severed to have all these things. The world has worked diligently to form emotional bonds that hinder our spiritual transformation. Sin has infiltrated our heart and infected our mind. We must allow the Spirit of the Living God to resurrect the Plan and Purpose that is in the faith installment that was knit into our creation. (Romans 12:2) As the seed of faith is nurtured by God’s Word, Will and Way, it begins to grow in to confident hope as we release this world and people from our expectation and become firmly fixed in His Plan for our life. This is a process. It is called transformation. It is a heart-and-mind transplant that requires the ultimate trust to undergo but will reward us with a life formerly dreamed about that now is a reality of hope!
Romans 12:2 (Amplified)
Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
Your actions and attitude reveal one’s agenda. Faith is not enough to have God’s Perfect Plan in this life. Perfect people are not what God is looking for. God is looking for those who are willing to undergo a complete and total transformation. People are intrigued but such things. Look at all the success of makeover shows on television. It doesn’t matter if it is people, homes or even automobiles. There is something about unrealized potential that gives one’s full attention to the transformation process. Could it be the unfulfilled desires of the human heart that are hopeful such purpose and potential is hidden in their life as well? Well, of course, God put ETERNITY in the human heart. (Ecclesiastes 3:11) It has become so convoluted by compromise that even the strongest believer is left wanting more. God is after two things. He wants your heart and mind. If you will commit both of these valuable assets to God’s Renovation, Restoration and Renewal Plan through His Resurrection Power – you will never be disappointed and constantly surprised by what the Lord can do with the most broken lives.
I Chronicles 28:9-10 (NLT)
“And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. So take this seriously. The LORD has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary. Be strong, and do the work.”
David gave his son, Solomon excellent instructions regarding constructing a temple worthy of God not only in physical form but spiritual revelation as well. To be an expert builder, you must worship and serve the Lord with your whole heart and a willing mind. If you seek Him, you will find him. Well, for those of you who don’t know the rest of the story Solomon built a magnificent temple for the Lord with the finest of resources but he was not as successful with his human temple. We are the temple God desires most. (I Peter 2:4-5; I Corinthians 6:19-20) A life constructed on a firm foundation of faith flourishing in confident hope fully trusting and resting with the Lord in His Presence. It is a simple life that we have compromised and complicated. It is time for a complete renovation of our heart and mind according to God’s Plan and Purpose for our life.
Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (NLT)
And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
To become all that Christ has called you to be as a Child of God, you must commit your heart and mind to the Lord completely. I share this with a warning. Like any renovation project, expect the unexpected. The more of your life that you surrender to the Lord, the more you find that needs to be done. It will require daily inspection of the heart and mind to make sure our motives line up with His Word, Will and Way. This is the first commandment. All the others mean nothing, if we do not do them out of a deep love and motivation to serve the Lord with our whole heart and mind. Everything else is a good thing but not godliness without this purpose. God examines our heart and mind every day. (Psalm 17:3) The more we work to align our attitude and actions with the Lord’s Agenda, the more prosperous we become from the inside out as our life is transformed from human possibilities to God’s Impossibilities.
Deuteronomy 11:18-19 (NLT)
“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”
Transformation of the human heart begins when we fill it with the Word of God. You cannot have a heart for someone who you do not know. Compassion for strangers is often discovered in their plight. You must know they exist and something about them before you begin to fall in love with them and so it is with the Lord. How can you love a God you do not know wholeheartedly? How can you commit your heart to a plan you know nothing about? How will you decide if you have what it takes if you do not know what He is asking? Those who desire all that God has for them must commit time to reading, studying, knowing and understanding God’s Word. If you spend more time reading or watching anything else, it may be time to consider the contents of one’s heart. You are what you eat. You live what you know.
Jeremiah 29:11-14 (NLT)
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the LORD. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”
Yay, God has a good plan for our life. Yay, it comes with a future in a hope. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me (and that plan with a future and a hope)! Whoa, what did you just say? People want God’s Plan but refuse to live God’s Will. If you do not wholeheartedly commit your heart to seeking and following God’s Way, how do you expect His Results? That is ridiculous reasoning to think you could set your sights on a destination and arrive traveling in the opposite direction. Yet it is exactly how many believers live today and call it grace. I understand that God’s Ways are higher as well as His Thoughts but I keep reading that justice and righteousness are the foundations of His Throne making sin inadmissible. I also understand that my new life should be transformed by His Mercy and Grace so that sin is no longer my keeper. If you want God’s Plan with the future and hope attached, you will attain it only by seeking His Way (following Jesus) wholeheartedly. There is no such thing as fiction in the Kingdom of God, its foundation is truth. There is no “me” time in Heaven as we worship around the Throne. We do not entertain the enemy while we wait on our soon and coming King! It is time to reclaim the pieces of our heart given to an unworthy world and present them to our Precious Savior day by day as we live wholeheartedly according to His Will of doing things.
Romans 6:16-18 (NLT)
Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you wholeheartedly obey this teaching we have given you. Now you are free from your slavery to sin, and you have become slaves to righteous living.
Faith is a product of one’s heart demonstrated by our mind represented by how we live. We live what we believe. It is our attitudes and actions projected in each moment of every day. Our feelings including overwhelming emotions that cause us to be pulled around by problems only reveal a heart with no faith and confidence in God. God’s Way will produce confident hope as we learn to love and trust Him more. We can do things His Way following the example of Jesus Christ because no matter how things may look today – we know that we have a future and hope that cannot be stopped by this world because it is our inheritance safely stored in Heaven. You can never live by faith if you are not wholeheartedly committed to the Lord and His Way. See the world will take bits and pieces and be completely satisfied but God requires our whole heart. He is a jealous God whose love is stronger than death and demanding as the grave!
John 14:23-29 (NLT)
Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me. I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am. I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do happen, you will believe.”
The Holy Spirit is our Advocate. We have a representative of the Kingdom of God inside of us ready to take on every thought that is in opposition to God’s Word, Will and Way. But if you are not wholeheartedly committed to seeking these things and dedicated to a transformed mind, He is powerless in your life. It is a losing battle because there is opposition within the person. Your flesh is at war with your soul. You will never get any farther until it is settled between your heart and mind. You can have faith in your heart that never gains access to your world because it is suffocated by how you think and what you actually do in this world. Having faith in God but never believing Him enough to live it means you really do not trust the Lord at all or have confidence that His Word is true. Let’s be honest. How many times do we say that we believe God but refuse to trust Him beyond our words? God has promised us peace of mind and heart. It is up to us to align our life to receive it. We have got to get it together for the Body of Christ to prosper and revival to come!
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NLT)
We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
If the Lord examines our heart and mind every day, then it would be a good idea to do the same! What are we looking for? Strongholds of human reasoning that are hindering us from faithful expectation. False arguments that have dulled our mind to the Truth found in His Word and relayed by His Spirit. Pride obstacles that create paralyzing fear because we believe people over God! We must capture these thoughts holding them subject to God’s Word and casting them to the pit of hell from where they came. God has an awesome plan for your life and it is most definitely worth having. It is worthy of your time. The transforming power of God demonstrated in the resurrection of Jesus Christ will mend your broken heart and fortify it with faith in God that will change your mind. It will release you from human expectation to divine revelation that He who has promised is faithful. Give Him your whole heart with a willing mind and the impossible becomes probable by faith in action.
Philippians 4:8-9 (NLT)
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
If you know nothing else today, know this – God loves you. What more can He do to express it? He gave you His Only Son. Nobody loves you like God so fix your thoughts on Him. The more you get to know the Lord the more His Love will overflow into your life and outpour in the life of others until your life is in agreement heart and mind. Miracles happen when this happens. You will live a supernatural life but first we have to get it together!
Ephesians 4:12-13 (NLT)
Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
