The Richland County Public Library conducts mock or practice interviews every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the main library on Assembly. The practice interview will be benefit to do because it will help calm nerves by helping with interview questions, provide constructive feedback and tips on how to improve. To prepare for this a person should have an idea of what job field they want to gain employment, so that interview questions can be tailored, review interview question and answers and if possible dress accordingly. Dressing appropriately is not required but will add to the environment making the practice more real-life. There are numerous of books available at the library for interview questions that can be reviewed at the library, check out or download. There are also numerous website available: 100 Potential Interview Questions, Types of questions and Top Interview Questions.
There are different types of questions that can be asked are basic, behavioral, salary, career development, brainteaser, direct and non-direct, hypothetical and situational.
Examples of questions:
• What attracted you to this company?
• What are your strengths/weaknesses?
• Can you describe a time when your work was criticized?
• Give me an example of a time you did something wrong. How did you handle it?
