Get grounded for Earth Day

Here is a quick and grounding meditation to get you connected and rooted to the Earth on this beautiful Earth Day.


  1. Sit quieting in Easy Pose. Form Earth Mudra with your hands by pressing your thumb to your ring finger on each hand.

  2. Begin to connect with your breath. Use your inhales and exhales to drawn your attention to the present moment, away from the past and the future. Inhale peace.

  3. Observe how your sitz bones and legs are rooted with your mat or the ground. Inhale, lengthen your spine upwards and feel grounded, anchored to the mat. 

  4. Move your attention to the very base of your spine. Imagine a red square at the base of your spine. This is your first chakra or your root chakra.

  5. Continue to inhale and exhale. Repeat this mantra to yourself:   "I am grounded. I am peace. I am connected to life. I am love. "

  6. Continue repeating this short mantra. Close your meditation with an Om.
