If there’s anything to know about lip colors, it’s that you can never have enough. Lip colors can transform over the seasons and can create a pop to any outfit. L’Oreal’s lip color line includes a color moisturizing balm and a hydrating color crayon. I tried both the Colour Riche Balm Pop in Electric Pink and the Colour Riche Glossy Balm Crayon in Ginger Candy.
The Balm Pop’s color added a glossy sheen to my lips. I was hesitant of the bright pink color, but the formula is hydrating and blends easily creating a smooth lip look. Instead of being too bright or obnoxious, it's pretty color is more subtle. The color is rich without being too heavy, and actually works really well when layered with the Balm Crayon.
The Balm Crayon also glides on easily. With my darker skin, the color itself didn’t come through as it might for someone with a lighter skin tone. Due to the contrast of my skin with the Ginger Candy color, it left my lips with more of a frosted look. However, layered with a darker lip color, it works just fine. I like the product itself, but would choose a different color.
Of the two products, the Balm Pop is superior. The packaging is beautiful and it’s texture makes the product feel nourishing on the lips. The poppy pink color is probably best for spring and summer for a fresh look. Both products each come in eight different shades.
