Who doesn't like a complimentary breakfast in Cape Coral especially when it's served up by Mel's Diner, well known for its culinary excellence for more than 25 years?

On Friday, Jan. 10, from 6:30 to 11:30 a.m., Mel's Diner in Cape Coral will offer a free breakfast for all guests who donate at least $5 to the new Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. The complimentary meal includes pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hot tea or coffee.

And for Major League Baseball Spring Training fans who love Southwest Florida's Grapefruit League excitement, Mel's will also be selling chances to win tickets for two guests to attend a Tampa Bay Rays versus Minnesota Twins game on March 24 at the newly refurbished Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers.

And get this: The winner will have the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch! What a memorable day this could be.

Tickets are just $ 5 for each chance and $20 for five tickets. Money raised through the breakfast event will be directed to Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida's capital campaign.

So for people who love Major League Baseball during Southwest Florida's popular spring training season -- and a chance for a free breakfast at a popular Cape Coral restaurant -- this is one event not to be missed!
