Get fit with Waterfront Wellness on a weekend trip to Baltimore

Health and fitness isn't exactly what comes to mind when you think of visiting Baltimore. Crab cakes, pound cake and an abundance of down-home comfort food sounds more like it. But this summer, visitors can work off the calories they put on with the Waterfront Wellness Series. The free classes take place most Saturdays and Sundays, May 24 through August 31 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the Inner Harbor's West Shore Park (401 Light Street, between the Visitor Center and the Maryland Science Center).

New York Getaways got a preview of the waterfront workouts during a press trip in April, and although we were a bit reluctant, we have to admit taking a fitness class is a refreshing way to experience Baltimore City's bustling Harbor.

The free fitness classes include yoga, boxing boot camp, Parkour and Zumba, and these public classes are suitable for all skill levels and are taught by local professionals in the wellness industry. A one-time registration is required for the entire summer series.

Saturdays:

Boxing Boot Camp with Knockout Fitness - 8:00 AM

Zumba with Canton Club- 9:00 AM

Sundays:

Yoga with Charm City Yoga - 8:00 AM

*Parkour with Urban Evolution at 9:00 AM

Waterfront Partnership is committed to health and wellness and excited to offer this free series to residents, employees, and visitors of Baltimore. All participants must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

*Although classes are free, to support Baltimore Waterfront Partnership activities, please consider making a small donation.
