It’s February, the coldest month of the year, but the clothing market is bound and determined to remind consumers that summer is just around the corner. Swimsuits are prominently displayed at the entrances of popular shopping spots, sweaters are on sale, and sandals have once again emerged from beneath the stacks of heavy leather boots. Summer is almost here, is your waist line ready?
If you’re like most West Michigan dwellers, you coped with the weather underneath a pile of warm homemade brownies and Friday’s thirty-cent hot wings special. It’s nothing to be ashamed of as you wear your oversized sweater and stretchy leggings, but once June hits you’ll have to sport those saddlebags for the world to see! No one wants children to shout, “In coming” as they make their first sprint for the Lake Michigan waves. So, in order to reverse the damage of the Michigan winter blues while also boosting your karma, attend some of the following running events that raise money for local philanthropies. Participate in one each month and watch your waist line shrink!
