Do you love cookbooks but do not love handing over the money to buy them? There are a lot of us out there just like that. If you have ever been on Amazon.com you are probably aware of their book reading tablet called Kindle. They are nice, but they can be expensive to purchase.
Recently we learned that you do not need to buy a Kindle to have access to Kindle books. You can download the Kindle app for PC for free. So why do I mention this in a cooking blog? That’s because every day, Amazon offers free downloads of many cookbooks and other books. Over the last few weeks, we have downloaded over 300 cookbooks into our Kindle app for the PC. Best of all, we paid absolutely nothing for these cookbooks.
The books change each day and they may be free now, but in an hour, there may be a charge again, so watch closely before you click ‘buy’ to be sure it is actually free.
We have downloaded books on canning, old fashioned cooking, paleo recipes, gluten free recipes and a whole lot more. If you like the book, just keep it. If you do not, you can delete it from your Kindle reader. It costs you nothing but a few minutes of your time.
You can set up a search on Amazon.com that sends out a daily e-mail to inform you what cookbooks are free that day. If there’s time, I look, if not, no problem.
Take advantage of these incredible savings and expand your collection of cookbooks at the same time.
Of course, if you absolutely must hold a cookbook in your hands, you can always go to Bookman’s or Half Price Books in Mesa to buy used cookbooks or Barnes and Noble, also in Mesa, to purchase new cookbooks.
Have you found other ways to obtain free cookbooks? If so, we would love to hear about it.
