Guess what, Plague Rats? Emilie Autumn has just announced that her most highly ambitious, musical extravaganza-sure to delight Plague Rats and other unconventional-minded folks-will be called the "Asylum Experience." This Asylum experience is even more nonlinear and eventful, then your usual Emilie Autumn stage performance. It will occur between June 18-22, as part of Warped Tour 2014.

On her Facebook fan page, a very enticing press release promises that the Asylum Experience is bound to be "an interactive environment featuring live musical and burlesque performances, sideshow circus attractions, and up-close-and-personal immersive theatre, all presented in her fantastical alternate reality known as "The Asylum For Wayward Victorian Girls."

Essentially, there will still be a stage-show, but the stage show will be accompanied by a diverse number of other diversified activities, inspired from Emilie Autumn's novel.

These additional festivities are further elaborated upon in the press release: "With multiple tents and interactive elements to choose from and explore, numerous characters to follow, and endless secrets to uncover, every visitor will have a completely unique experience impossible to recreate."

Each of these tents and interactive elements will feature familiar characters from the wonky fictional realm of The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls, such as Victorian doctors, lunatic asylum guards, talking rats, and striped-stockinged inmates. Basically, all the tents and interactive elements are geared to pervade the committed plague rat's mind with the sense that the Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls may very well be a tangible dimension, separate from our own.

Cleverly, this entire interactive experience, which functions like a renaissance fair run by asylum inmates, will be the most fully fleshed out manifestation of Emilie Autumn's entire vision of the asylum, thus far. Of course, the eventual West End musical will be the culmination of all these essential parts that will lead Emilie Autumn, hopefully, on the road to getting a Tony someday.

On top of having all the eccentric characters from the book, the Asylum Experience itself promises that there will be a mad tea party of sorts, as well. This mad tea party "proves to be more mad than Alice could ever have imagined." Additionally, this tea-party will also feature "an authentic, Victorian electro-shock machine."

If you are a Plague Rat, this is the event that you do not want to miss, though Plague Rats that live on the West Coast of the US are really the only ones, for now, that will be able to partake in this very special event.

In the next installment of the Emilie Autumn Examiner, we should hopefully be getting even more exciting details about the Asylum Experience, from Emilie Autumn herself. Keep your ratty eyes peeled for the next article!
