Get cash for Halloween candy

How much candy can your child really eat between now and Christmas? That's what many of us are wondering. Here's a great solution to the problem of candy overload.

The national Halloween Candy Buy Back Program encourages dentists to buy Halloween candy back at a nominal fee -- for example, $1 per pound -- and donate it to American solidiers. Participating offices accept candy certain days and times after Halloween.

James Stewart's office in Livonia is one participating office. Located at 15873 Middlebelt Road, Suite 100 (between Five and Six Mile Roads), the office is collected candy this Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bring your child with you and get $1 per pound of candy donated.

Search the buy back site for other participating dentists near you, and call for dates and times. But hurry -- there are usually just a few dates right after Halloween.
