Nothing says "Happy New Year" like taking an adventure to a faraway place. With the Chicago Travel and Adventure Show, you don't have to go too far to get away from it all.
Set for Jan. 26-27 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, the event features interactive displays, talks from travel experts and more than 150 exhibitors to help you plan your next vacation.
New this year is an exhibit featuring SeaWorld's Antartica: Empire of the Penguin, which opens in Orlando in 2013. Other highlights include a 15,000-gallon tank for scuba diving, Alaskan sled dogs, plus cooking, music and dance shows.
This show is part of a series of shows held nationwide. "Planning a vacation has never been more fun. Being the country's largest series of travel shows, this is a must-see travel extravaganza," said John Golicz, CEO of Unicomm, which produces the event in five cities nationally.
Last year's event attracted 18,000 visitors, setting a record. Tickets are $9 online for adults, or $15 at the door. Children age 16 or younger are free. Check out the above link for more details and contact information.
Happy traveling!
