If you engage in learning or working on flower arrangements as a student, hobbyist or floral designer, you may want to enhance your flower arranging skills somehow or other. The most appropriate way is, of course, taking lessons from a talented instructor having ample experiences in the floral design industry.
Another important thing is that you should place yourself in good environment where you can stimulate yourself in learning flower arranging. In this case, “good environment” means an ideal place where you can get valuable information about floral designs by way of getting along with floral artists who are better experienced than you. By associating with such artists, you MAY be affected by them in ideas and concepts for making floral decorations.
In this sense, it is a good way to belong to an association organizing floral designers or flower arranging schools whereby you MAY have a good change of exchanging and getting priceless information which may help you improve or create your floral arranging skills and ideas.
If you are a student who is still learning floral designs at a flower school, you must have opportunities of getting along with senior students who have better skills than you. By getting along with such students in your daily life, you can enhance your floral designing skills in various ways. Besides those students, instructors who teach you at a classroom may provide you with good ideas or suggestions about your floral decorations not only during a lesson but also apart from a classroom lessons time.
Senior students or your instructors MUST welcome questions from you and they must be willing to help you. In a sense even senior students or instructors can learn something valuable from you through exchanging information with you. Through the communication with you, your instructor can know what her student wants to learn more and on what kind of matter her students have difficulties in making floral arrangements. And better experienced students may be able to learn something new from you or enhance the portfolio of their floral designs by getting along with you. From student to student, the way of arranging flowers is different and also the idea and concept behind his/her arrangement is different. Therefore there may be opportunities both parties can be affected each other.
Since you, senior students (better experienced students) and your instructors share the same interest (that is floral designs) each other, exchanging information in a good way must help each other so that everybody stimulates others, which may help enhance ideas and skills of flower arrangements.
As a floral design instructor, I always try to do my utmost in order to help my students who want to brush up on their flower arranging skills. The bottom line is getting along with better experienced floral artists helps you enhance your own skills.
