Yes, the last time they held this event it was a bit…exciting at the women’s tops table. This year Swap SF, which also holds book swaps, is making it up to you- a new & bigger venue, a format that's far less insane (especially when it comes to women's tops), and an easier ticketing process.
It really is like a big ol’ theatrical event, very colorful, fast-paced and full of action. Swap SF’s approach is very clever, targeting hip young singles with their tagline: “Recycled fashion for social animals”.
Here is what the swap has to offer this year:
Halloween and theatrical costume potential galore!
- Badass drink specials (come thirsty)!
- Music provided by either a DJ (or an iPod- TBD)!
- 3 hours of shopping for all the free clothes you can carry!
- That pepperminty feel good sensation!
You know the drill. But in case you've forgotten... bring a bag of clean clothes that you're kind of over but that are still rad and drop them off when you get here. Then shop through what everyone else brought and take literally as much as you want! For free! For real!
Leftover clothing will be donated to various San Francisco charities. Meantime it's a perfect excuse to enjoy brunch time booze and to take off your pants in public without getting arrested (but don't be weird or creepy, and wear underwear). Thanks.
It all happens Saturday, October 16th, from 12-3pm, at Mighty, 119 Utah off 15th Street in San Francisco. Tickets are $6, and $11 if you don’t bring clothes. Pre-purchase from Brown Paper Tickets. For more info, call (415) 690-5198.
