Are you getting ready for the 2013 fall TV schedule? If you're hoping to get motivated to shed pounds and gain self-confidence when it comes to hitting the gym, pencil in "The Biggest Loser," which will return to NBC on October 8.
Posting on Google Circles, "The Biggest Loser" recently announced "Our trainers do not take "I can't" for an answer!" And that goes for the diet that the participants are expected to follow as well. Want a taste of their lifestyle on the campus? Chef Devin Alexander authored "The Biggest Loser Quick & Easy Cookbook: Simply Delicious Low-calorie Recipes to Make in a Snap" (click for details).
She recently wrote for Parade magazine about one of her recipes from the cookbook. "This recipe is a bit higher in fat than most in my book, but most of the fat comes from peanut butter, which provides good fat. Just be sure to alternate this with higher-fiber, lower-fat snacks."
PB&J Spirals Ingredients
- 1 whole-wheat flour low-carb, tortilla (7-½” diameter)
- 1-½ Tbsp reduced-fat peanut butter
- 1 Tbsp 100% strawberry all-fruit spread (or your favorite flavor)
Directions: Set a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat for about 1 minute, or until hot. Place the tortilla in the skillet. Cook for 20 to 30 seconds per side, or until just warm.
Place the tortilla on a cutting board. Spread the surface evenly with the peanut butter followed by the fruit spread. Roll into a tube. Slice into 8 equal pieces. Arrange on a serving plate, spiral side up. Serve immediately.
