The Youth Opportunity Showcase, an annual job fair for young adults, ages 16 through 21, has been held for the past six years in Louisville. This event gives teens a chance to apply for jobs, as well as learn about educational and volunteer opportunities. Each year, nearly 1,000 jobs have been available through area employers. The event is free to both employers and job seekers.
Mark your calendar now for the next Youth Opportunity Showcase on Feb. 18, 2012, at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
The event offers local employers the opportunity to connect with thousands of young adults about full-time, part-time and summer job opportunities. In addition to employers, educational and service organizations participate to give teens a chance to learn about internships, educational and volunteer opportunities.
The Youth Opportunity Showcase is sponsored by KentuckianaWorks, Louisville Metro Government and the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training. More than 2,000 young people attended the March 2011 event.
