George Jones announces new VIP ticket option for 2013's 'The Farewell Tour'

Grammy-winning George Jones' final Nashville concert outing at Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 22, 2013, filled seats at "White Lightning" speed, with 15,000-plus scooping up tickets. But for those hardcore "Possum" fans who want to get closer to Jones and have the cash to spare, there's a new option.

On March 13, reps for the legendary singer, 81, announced the implementation of a new "VIP Experience" that will include a special George Jones-autographed item and the chance to meet ‘the country star backstage The VIP Experience is being offered for $1,000 per person and only 100 VIP tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis exclusively via the crooner's official website.

“We are so excited for this show and for all the artists that are going to be taking part,” said Nancy Jones, wife of the Beaumont, Texas-reared hit-maker, in a March 13 statement shared with Examiner.com. “George and I were shocked at how fast the tickets sold and the prices people are being asked to pay online for broker tickets. In an effort to keep the prices reasonable for fans, we decided to offer a VIP Experience, which includes a backstage meet and greet with George.”
