German Shepherd Rescue of Las Vegas: Marge's Story (Video)

A picture launched enough pledges to help the German Shepherd Rescue of Las Vegas pull Marge from the Kern shelter in Bakersfield, California. Marge is an older adult German Shepherd whose sad expression behind a cage circulated facebook among German Shepherd sites in February. Fortunately, enough pledges were collected to transport Marge to a foster home after being pulled from Kern. So far, the status of Marge as of February 25, is that she did not get along with her foster's dog and is with a new temporary foster. She has also been renamed Hope.

According to one of Hope's rescuers, a vet indicated that the dog had been pregnant and had full milk ducts. Hope had lost her litter before ending up in the Kern shelter. After her rescue it was discovered when she was taken to be spayed that she was pregnant again. Hope was given a full D&C and is now recovering from the procedure. While Hope waits for a forever home her current foster describes her as mellow and fully house broken. She is under five years old and has excellent teeth.
