German shepherd prevents owner from committing suicide

It is often said that our pets have an extra sense. Some claim dogs predict severe weather turbulence and yet others can detect illness or even cancer in a human. In this article, the dog was intensely tuned into his owner’s depression and acted upon it.

A loving dog is not at all distracted by country, day or night, male or female, skin color or age. This dog lived with his owner in France. Apparently, he knew that his 63-year-old owner was distraught and depressed. He wasn’t ready to stand by as she committed suicide right in front of him and he acted on it.

When she made the decision to end her life in her home’s backyard in Sorgues, her German shepherd wasn’t going to stand by idly and let her. He jumped into action. Just as she was raising the pistol to shoot herself, he rammed her, hard. It was his attempt to get her to drop the gun.

A police officer responding to the house said, “The dog probably sensed things and knocked into her to save her.”

Despite the dog’s intervention, his owner suffered a minor chest would and was not seriously hurt. She will make a full recovery and remains very much alive.

The dog has some issues since he saved her life and, hopefully, he can get over them quickly.
