German Fest is a festival of German culture at Henry Maier Festival Park (Summerfest Grounds) in downtown Milwaukee from Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26, 2009. Milwaukee, Wisconsin
has a rich German heritage from the many German immigrants that settled in the community. German Fest celebrates the European heritage with music, food, dancing, Weiner Dog Races and musical entertainment. New this year is the Saturday Night Air Show over the Milwaukee Harbor.

Fireworks
Fireworks will light up the skies over German Fest Friday through Sunday night. The fireworks will begin at 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9:30 p.m.
The German Cultural Village features the Auswandererwelt Ballinstadt Museum from Hamburg and the Deutsches Ausandererhaus, Bremerhaven or Bermerhaven – German Emigration Center. The museum, which opened in 2007, is dedicated to the five million people who left Europe between 1850 and 1939 via the port of Hamburg in search of a better life across the Atlantic, usually to the U.S.A.
Admission- Adult tickets $13 (or $10 in advance through ticket outlets)
- Seniors (60+ with ID) $7
- Students (with ID) $7
- Children 12 and under are always free with adult
- Thursday – Free all day
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday – Free for Military Personnel and family with active military IS
- Friday – Handicapped and an escort get free admission from 3 pm to 5 pm
- Sunday – Mass attendees get free admission immediately after the 10:30 am mass in the Marcus Amphitheater
- Sunday – Hunger Task Force Food Drive – free admission a the North Gate only, from 1 pm to 3 pm with the donation of non-perishable food items
