Gerber Foods announced on their Facebook page that the very popular Gerber Photo Search Contest returns this month.
Starting Sept. 23, parents can upload a recent photo of their Gerber baby to the Gerber Facebook page for a chance to win $50,000 and an opportunity for their child to star in a future Gerber advertisement.
"Our fans have been waiting for this announcement all year," said Cathy Abramski, Head of Consumer Communications for Gerber. "Parents love taking pictures of their little ones and Photo Search lets them showcase their child. We're looking forward to seeing adorable faces from all across the country in the 2013 Gerber Photo Search."
To enter the Gerber Photo Search Contest, parents must first like the Gerber Facebook page. Children must be 48 months or younger. Only parents and legal guardians may enter their child's photo in the contest.
This is the fourth annual Gerber Photo Search. To help parents get ready for the Gerber Photo Search, Gerber shares these useful tips:
- Be prepared. Keep your camera within reach, charged up and ready to shoot. You can't get the shot if you don't have your camera with you.
- Stay close. Your child should always be the star of your photo. Get in as close as you can, filling the frame with your child's face.
- Plan for success. Unposed, spur-of-the-moment photos are wonderful, but you may also want to plan an informal photo shoot. Pick out a nice spot and allow plenty of time to take a bunch of unhurried photos.
- Get down. Children are short, so get down to their level to take your pictures.
- Timing is important. Plan your picture taking for a time of day when your little model will be happy and alert.
