Former My Chemical Romance frontman, Gerard Way, is getting ready to release his debut solo album, "Hesitant Alien," due out Sept. 30. For those of you who have pondered, "Why no more My Chemical Romance? Way reveals in a Rolling Stone interview that "it was the right time for My Chemical Romance to end." "It was becoming really dark," Way added. My Chemical Romance disbanded in March 2013 announcing their breakup on the band's official website issuing a statement. During this time Way had already completed a solo demo which he posted via Soundcloud performing everything execpt drums.
Way is saying goodbye to the goth look as he embarks on his solo career with a new ginger style and british rock influence in his new music video, "No Shows." A heavy 80s retro look and spirited rawness generates a musical transition for Way, entering into a new direction. Some of the songs off the record were inspired by David Bowie's "Station to Station" and "No Shows" definitely has that vibe.
Gerard shared in the interview with RS that he always felt "like an alien." "My whole trip through music, I always felt hesitant, and I always felt like an alien," Way said. Well it seems that Way has found his way and appears more comfortable in his skin and in this new venture. In fact, Way is ready to release solo album number two. The singer has been writing and wants to follow up with this album right away, he told Rolling Stone.
