What makes zombies so scary? Coming back from the dead. Geralf's Messenger is a new Undying rare zombie from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert Magic: the Gathering expansion set Dark Ascension.

When Geralf's Messenger enters the battlefield, target opponent loses 2 life.
Undying (When this creature dies, if it had no +1/+1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control with a +1/+1 counter on it.)

Revealed in an article by Mike Flores on Wizards.com, Geralf's Messenger is the harbinger of the Zombie Apocalypse. Geralf's Messenger can keep your Gravecallers coming back for more brains.

Alongside Cemetery Reaper and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Geralf's Messenger can become truly horrifying.

Don't forget to include Call to the Grave and Ranks of the Endless Dead too.

Just watch out for a Grafdigger's Cage.

How will you use Geralf's Messenger from Dark Ascension?

Dark Ascension is the second set of three in the Innistrad block. Dark Ascension will contain 158 cards, and be released on February 3, 2012.

Dark Ascension Prerelease events will occur on January 28-29, 2012. There will be Dark Ascension Launch Parties on February 3-6, 2012. The Dark Ascension Game Day will be on March 3-4, 2012.

Dark Ascension is followed by Avacyn Restored.
