David Purdue is a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat that Senator Saxby Chambliss is vacating. His web site says “We need to repeal ObamaCare and replace it with more affordable free market solutions.”
Sadly, Mr. Purdue does not seem to understand free markets. Free markets cannot be legislated. They occur spontaneously. There is no government free market solution.
Governments can only get in the way of free markets. In health care, the major interference to a free market in medical care comes from the income tax and Federal Reserve Bank. To return to a free market in health care, we must abolish these institutions.
This would allow the free market to develop in health care where individuals would own catastrophic medical insurance policies and pay for most of their care out-of-pocket. For further information please click this web site: http://www.examiner.com/article/free-market-health-care.
If Mr. Purdue and the other senate candidates fail to advocate for a free market health care system, America is likely to solve our health care problems with a single payer system.
