Georgia Tech's 2013 football schedule at a glance

With the ACC Football schedule officially being announced on Monday, let's take a quick look what the season has in store for the Yellow Jackets.

With the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game only a few blocks away at the Georgia Dome, the Ramblin' Wreck will put toe to leather at Bobby Dodd Stadium against Elon on August 31.

Probably not ideal by any stretch of the imagination, the Jackets will get their off week just after the first game of the season before traveling to Durham to take on the Blue Devils of Duke on September 14.

September 21 brings the Tar Heels of North Carolina to Atlanta, followed by a second straight home game with Virginia Tech a mere five days later - on the 26th - for a Thursday night match-up between the only two teams to have ever owned the ACC Coastal Division Trophy.

Tech then plays two on the road, but in drastically different settings. October 5th gives the Jackets a trip to Miami for an always interesting meeting with the Hurricanes, then on the 12th out to the dry mountain air of Provo, Utah for a rematch with BYU.

The first ever ACC season for Syracuse brings them down to Atlanta on October 19th for a mid-season matchup with the Yellow Jackets, and then on the 26th Tech goes back on the road to an always tough game in Charlottesville to take on Virginia.

Yet another first season ACC team rolls into Bobby Dodd Stadium on November 2nd in Pittsburgh, then due to the expanded eight-game conference schedule, the Jackets are forced to offset their yearly matchup with Clemson by playing them on the road for the second straight year on November 14th. This does, however, come after another much needed off week, giving Tech two on the season.

A November 23 game with Alabama A&M at home means the Yellow Jackets will be playing their second FCS team on the year before the annual after-Thanksgiving game with arch rival Georgia at home on the 30th.
