Latest Volunteer Spotlight from the Georgia SPCA:
"We have such wonderful, dedicated volunteers, and I'd like to introduce you to one: Charlie Yeager. At 97 years young, Charlie passed his life-long love of dogs to his daughter, Chris, another one of our fabulous volunteers. Charlie is a retired aircraft engineer. He lives very close to Chris, and one of his favorite things to do is go to the dog park with Chris and Brian and watch their pack of dogs play. Another one of his favorite things to do is volunteer at the Georgia SPCA's vaccination clinics and PetSmart adoption events.
"Charlie is an inspiration to us all, and his compassion for animals is apparent in the way he lights up when dogs are around. Charlie has owned dogs all his life, and he took a real liking to a little black and tan Cheweenie named Stiles, shown with him in this photo. He really wanted Stiles to be adopted, and he was -- on the very day this photo was taken! We thank Charlie for volunteering with us. As you can tell by looking at this photo, I think Charlie gets as much out of it as the animals! What could be better than cuddling a sweet puppy or kitten? Finding a home for one, that's what!
"If you'd like to volunteer your time, we'd love to have you. Just review our volunteer info, and contact us to tell us what you'd like to do. Our Volunteer Coordinator will get in touch with you and let you know how to get started. We always need people to help at events, walk dogs, help in the kennels or in the office, be a foster parent, and many other tasks. When you volunteer, you not only help the organization, but you feel great knowing you are doing something to help rescue homeless animals."
