Do you love animals? Would you like to make a world of difference to homeless pets? Every day, we rely on our dedicated volunteers to fulfill key tasks that help our rescues find loving homes. There are so many ways to channel your talents, skills and interests to help our shelter pets.
We are working to enhance our volunteer program, and are seeking both Volunteer Coordinators/Mentors and volunteers for a variety of responsibilities. Mentors assume a leadership role for a specific function, and help with the training and management of a group of volunteers performing that function. We're asking mentors to commit to specific schedule and be able to volunteer at least 10 hours per month. For more info about mentoring, contact: cindy@GeorgiaSPCA.org
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer at the shelter unaccompanied by a parent or guardian. Children under 14 are welcome, but a parent or guardian must be present at all times. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age to walk dogs and to help at our offsite adoption events at PetSmart.
Prospective volunteers must attend a one hour orientation prior to volunteering at the shelter. These sessions are held twice a month, on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. Please contact Laura for more information atlaura@GeorgiaSPCA.org

Engage with adult cats to help them become more socialized and adoptable. Contact: brenda@GeorgiaSPCA.org
Provide basic training, befriend a specific dog that need lots of engagement and exercise. Contact: brenda@GeorgiaSPCA.org

Donor Relations/Development Assist with the design/implementation of a strategy to engage long term involvement and commitment from individuals/businesses. Contact: cindy@GeorgiaSPCA.org
This is a short-term commitment, typically two weeks or less. Fosters care for moms nursing newborn puppies or kittens, dogs and cats that are recuperating from medical procedures, and animals who need a little extra TLC in a home environment. More info here. Contact: gail@GeorgiaSPCA.org

Design shelter flyers and promotional pieces; create graphics for our website. If you enjoy creative design, this could be the ideal role for you.

Needed to organize girl scout troops, beta clubs, fraternities, sororities to collect supplies, do fundraising and assist with other shelter projects.

Offsite Event Coordinators and Volunteers

Run for the Rescues
We're in the early planning stages for our 4th Annual Run for the Rescues 5k, Fun Run and Festival which will be held onSat, March 22 at Suwanee Towne Center. We'll need tons of volunteers, and assistance finding vendors and sponsors. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
