The Georgia Republican Party announced today dates and locations for the seven U.S. Senate Primary debates.

The rare vacancy in the Senate is a result of senior Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga) retiring after his current term.

The Republican field has at least eight candidates, including three members of the U.S. House of Representatives: Paul Broun (R-Ga-10), Phil Gingrey (R-Ga-11), Jack Kingston (R-Ga-01) and former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel (R-Ga).

The candidates will meet for debates on the following days:

January 18, 2014 - Adel, Georgia

February 1, 2014 - Kennesaw, Georgia

February 22, 2014 - Gainesville, Georgia

March 8, 2014 - Macon, Georgia

March 29, 2014 - Savannah, Georgia

April 19, 2014 - Augusta, Georgia

May 10, 2014 - Columbus, Georgia

From the GOP press release:

"The first debate in Adel will be held at the Cook County High School Performing Arts Center (9900 Georgia Highway 37, Adel, GA 31620).

All debates are on Saturday and will begin promptly at 6PM. Additional details will be released to the media as they become available."

The Georgia primaries will take place May 20, 2014.
