Georgia Mega Millions winner continues state winning streak

Gateway Newsstand in Atlanta, Ga. is the latest business to sell a lottery winning ticket to a lucky Georgian. The Georgia Mega Millions winner has not been identified as of Wednesday morning, but a CNBC report on Dec. 18 said the mega rich winners will split a $636 million jackpot between them.

Georgia follows New York and California in wins when it comes to lottery jackpots, and California maintains its first place status in that regard with one of this week's Mega jackpot winners coming out of San Jose.

The Peach state isn't as lucky when it comes to Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes wins; however, never racking up a PCH SuperPrize million dollar win to date. In fact, for the past two years there have been only minor prize sweepstakes winners in this part of the south. Maybe that will change with the upcoming PCH $1 Million-A-Year Forever prize to be awarded on Feb. 28, 2014.

Lottery players continue to favor the Mega Millions opportunity in Georgia when it comes to how they spend their money for gambling purposes. But for those who want a chance to win a fortune without spending a dime (because they don't want to gamble), PCH.com trumps the lottery. But for how long if there never is a super prize winner from here?
