Georgia Marine from Camp Lejeune killed in Helmand Province-Afghanistan

In a news release from the Department of Defense it was announced that Lance Cpl. Scott D. Harper, 21, of Winston, Georgia, died Oct. 13, 2011, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. 

Lcpl. Harper was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

There was no further information regarding other Marines who might have been injured in this incident.
